Q Lindsey Barrett
Barrett teaches workshops on writing young adult fiction at conferences and is Assistant Fiction Editor at Hunger Mountain, one of the few literary journals that publishes kid lit. She also serves as a contest submission reader for Hunger Mountain's Katherine Paterson Prize for YA and Children's Writing. She received her MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts, teaches writing at Central Washington University, and is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). Her current project is Savage|Sister, a YA novel set in 1890 in the wet and remote rainforests of the Olympic Peninsula. Despite taking place near Forks, the novel has neither sparkly vampires nor Sasquatch.
